A little Clexa love – The 100

January 23, 2016

So it has been a while, but I made a new fanvideo. I was testing out some new editing software and made this short one.

Fans of The 100, buckle in…

HG & Myka

February 16, 2012

So, I’m a little slow to this craze, but one of my latest TV loves is Warehouse 13. I’m not really sure why the show didn’t grab my attention the first time it was aired ..I mean, I love Sci-Fi and I used to want to be an archeologist once upon a time, so it really does seem to be my thing. But better late than never right?! Now, I’m truly addicted!

So much so that I am going to shamelessly plug my latest YouTube video here for you all! A HG Wells and Myka tribute (surprise, surprise!) …oh the subtext!!

In Joss We Trust.

November 24, 2010

If you’re a Buffy fan (and why wouldn’t you be?!) you may be shocked to hear that Warner Bros. have announced that they are moving forward with a Buffy the Vampire Slayer “reboot”  …without the involvement of Joss Whedon *gasp*

What are they thinking?!
I mean it’s not as if he spent years writing the original Buffy scripts, and has tried and tested writing and directing a motion picture before (Serenity) …so why on Earth was he not the natural pick for involvement? Unless of course, they’re going to crucify the whole story…

Here’s what the legend himself had to say on the matter:

This is a sad, sad reflection on our times, when people must feed off the carcasses of beloved stories from their youths—just because they can’t think of an original idea of their own, like I did with my Avengers idea that I made up myself.

Obviously I have strong, mixed emotions about something like this. My first reaction upon hearing who was writing it was, “Whit Stillman AND Wes Anderson? This is gonna be the most sardonically adorable movie EVER.” Apparently I was misinformed. Then I thought, “I’ll make a mint! This is worth more than all my Toy Story residuals combined!” Apparently I am seldom informed of anything. And possibly a little slow. But seriously, are vampires even popular any more?

I always hoped that Buffy would live on even after my death. But, you know, AFTER. I don’t love the idea of my creation in other hands, but I’m also well aware that many more hands than mine went into making that show what it was. And there is no legal grounds for doing anything other than sighing audibly. I can’t wish people who are passionate about my little myth ill. I can, however, take this time to announce that I’m making a Batman movie. Because there’s a franchise that truly needs updating. So look for The Dark Knight Rises Way Earlier Than That Other One And Also More Cheaply And In Toronto, rebooting into a theater near you.

Leave me to my pain! Sincerely, Joss Whedon.

If you’re interested, HERE is the original story, aptly titled ‘Worst Idea Ever?’

Good to be British!

February 3, 2010

Yes Britain, it is true – one of the latest lesbian content TV shows, will be coming from home territory! Now since losing The L Word and South of Nowhere, I have been craving such content …and, while I appreciate the joys of Skins being back on our screens…

…I do feel the need for more. It seems the gay Gods have answered the call however, with the release of a new show – Lip Service.

The show is going to be one of the latest dramas on BBC Three, about the sex lives and love affairs of twenty-something lesbians living in Glasgow. Created and written by Harriet Braun, she says this of the series:

“Based on my own experiences and those of my friends, I wanted to write a sexy, funny and irreverent drama that reflects what it is to be a young gay woman living in Britain today. I loved The L Word but it’s high time we saw some contemporary British lesbians, with all the bad weather, trips to the pub and repressed emotions that go with that. It will be as funny as it is pathos filled, because in my experience that’s how life is.”

Here’s a first look …I can’t wait 🙂

Crush of the week!

January 27, 2010

So it’s been a while since I’ve posted one of these, but then maybe its been a while since I’ve spotted anyone I like :p  Never the less, I’m back into action now 😉

I’ve just re-watched Series 3 of Skins, and I have to say, I loved it more than ever. Plus, with Series 4 starting on E4 on the 28th, my crush of the week goes to…

(drumroll please…)

Kathryn Prescott

I don’t know about you, but she’s just one of those that you wish really were a bit gay outside of TV land too…

Golden Gleek!

January 20, 2010

So everyone, how happy are we that Glee won the Golden Globe for Best TV Comedy/Musical?!

And don’t they look lovely doing it!?

Sadly, Lea Michele and Matthew Morrison missed out on their Best Actor and Actress award, but I think more shockingly, Jane Lynch was just plain wronged by being passed up for the Best Supporting Actress in a TV series. As Snarker put it – I can hear Sue Sylvester screaming: “You think that’s hard? Try losing to the Golden Globe to a polygamist, that’s hard.”

On the bright side though, the event did draw to light what we’ve all been expecting some time – the question of Lynch’s sexuality. She did in fact bring her girlfriend (to be ‘wife’ in May) to the awards, and looked rather happy about it …as was I 🙂

…I miss this show.

“Am I really trying to marry the most unattainable person on the face of this planet?”

The L Word – Season 3, Ep. 12: “Left Hand of the Goddess”

November 4, 2009

Hey kids and parents of kids and super-old, like ancestor-old-but-not-dead-yet-type people, just poking my oversized head in to say that the rumors are true… unless something very odd happens in the next few months, I will have the privilege of shooting an episode of GLEE. Why GLEE? Because I love cops, serial killers and gritty urban drama (I haven’t seen the show yet). Why me? Because they’re struggling and can’t afford real directors.

Those, ladies and gentlemen, are the words of my beloved Joss Whedon. Upon reading them I even did somewhat of a happy dance. I mean, Joss + Glee …it’s like Christmas come early for me!!

If anyone wants to read the full Joss announcement it can be found HERE. Meanwhile, excuse me while I go re watch Once More With Feeling and imagine the possible of this coming event…

Thoughts of the day…

October 24, 2009

I’ve discovered the lyrics that perfectly describe how I’ve been feeling the last few days – “It hurts to want everything and nothing at the same time”

I’m not sure who or what I want, but it’s all a little confusing I can tell you that much. Who thought that I would get so much attention …and who would have thought I’d not even be all that interested in it? :s

On a completely unrelated note, everyone needs to watch this video of the fabulous Tim Minchin on Jonathan Ross – it certainly brightened up my day!

Crush of the week!

October 13, 2009

So I’m really getting back into One Tree Hill at the moment and so decided crush of the week just had to come from said show! Now, Peyton or Brooke would be a faaaaar too easy pick, and so I’ve gone for a recurring secondary character instead – Mia Catalano

Kate Voegele

And seeing as I’m in such a good mood, I’ll even show you another picture…

…and a video!!
